Q. How can I keep from lying?

A. Remember in Proverbs 12:22, "'Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are His delight." Everything that Christians do should be as transparent as the sunlight. Truth is of God; deception, in every one of its myriad forms, is of Satan; and whoever in any way departs from the straight line of truth is betraying himself into Satan's power. "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison" (James 3:8). Ask the Lord for victory. "Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" (James 1: 19). God is faithful and will give you the desires of your heart.
